n the 2025 National Undergraduate Project Thesis and Technical Report Competition for Industrial Engineering and Management, the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) demonstrated outstanding performance and achieved remarkable results. The department secured top honors, winning First Place in the "Human Factors Engineering and Design" category and an Honorable Mention in the "Technical Report" category, showcasing the exceptional abilities of our students in both academic research and practical application.

由工管系「陳一郎 教授」的指導下,率領關亦媗、鍾皓然、黃紫菱三位學生針對現代人常見的生活情境進行深入探討,作品題目為「後背包重量對站立與步行使用手機之頸肩負荷分析」,研究聚焦於在行走或站立使用手機時,背包重量如何影響人體姿勢與頸肩肌群負荷。透過實驗與人因工程觀測分析,發現背包重量會加劇頭部前傾與肩頸壓力,為現代學生與上班族長期身體負荷提供了具科學依據的預防建議。本研究具高度實用性與健康教育意義,獲得評審一致肯定,勇奪人因組第一名殊榮。
Under the supervision of Professor I-Lang Chen from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, a team of three students—Kuan Yi-Hsuan, Chung Hao-Jan, and Huang Tzu-Ling—conducted an in-depth investigation into a common scenario in modern life. Their project, titled "An Analysis of the Effects of Backpack Weight on Neck and Shoulder Load While Using a Smartphone in Standing and Walking Postures," focused on how backpack weight impacts body posture and the muscular load on the neck and shoulder region when a person is using a smartphone while standing or walking. Through experimental methods and ergonomic analysis, the team discovered that the weight of a backpack exacerbates forward head posture and increases stress on the neck and shoulders. Their work provides scientifically-based preventive recommendations for mitigating long-term physical strain, an issue highly relevant to modern students and office workers. The study's high degree of practicality and significance in health education earned unanimous acclaim from the judges, securing the first-place award in the Human Factors category.
