競賽說明
由中國工業工程學會主辦之「2026群光全國工業工程與管理碩士論文競賽」,旨在鼓勵碩士研究生積極投入工業工程與管理相關領域研究,提升碩士論文品質,促進研究成果交流與產學應用,並透過公開競賽表揚優秀研究成果,培育兼具學術研究能力與實務應用能力之專業人才。
本競賽涵蓋工業工程、作業研究、生產管理、供應鏈管理、人因工程、智慧製造、資訊管理及人工智慧應用等多項研究領域,由學術界與產業界專家共同組成評審委員,依據研究主題之創新性、研究方法、學術貢獻、實務應用價值及整體研究成果進行綜合評選,為工業工程與管理領域具代表性的全國性碩士論文競賽之一。

研究成果介紹
本研究針對多供應商單買方存貨配送問題(Multi-Vendor Single-Buyer Inventory Routing Problem)進行探討,建立兼顧倉儲容量與異質車隊限制之最佳化模型,並結合遺傳演算法(Genetic Algorithm)與深度強化學習(Deep Reinforcement Learning)進行求解,以提升求解效率與成本表現。
研究成果兼具學術創新與實務價值,展現最佳化演算法於供應鏈管理與物流配送決策之應用潛力,並獲得競賽評審委員肯定,最終榮獲國際學生組第一名。

Competition Overview
The 2026 Master’s Thesis Competition in Industrial Engineering and Management – International Student Session, organized by the Chinese Institute of Industrial Engineers (CIIE), aims to encourage graduate students to actively engage in research related to Industrial Engineering and Management, enhance the quality of master’s theses, promote academic exchange and industry-academia collaboration, and recognize outstanding research achievements. Through this national competition, CIIE seeks to cultivate professionals with both strong academic research capabilities and practical application skills.
The competition covers a wide range of research areas, including Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Production Management, Supply Chain Management, Human Factors Engineering, Smart Manufacturing, Information Management, and Artificial Intelligence applications. Research submissions are evaluated by a panel of experts from academia and industry based on research originality, methodology, academic contribution, practical value, and overall research quality, making this competition one of the most representative national master’s thesis competitions in the field of Industrial Engineering and Management.
Award Achievement
Braynt Jani Rampengan, a graduate student in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, Ming Chi University of Technology, participated in the 2026 Master’s Thesis Competition in Industrial Engineering and Management – International Student Session and was awarded Excellent Award. His outstanding research achievement was highly recognized by the judging committee, demonstrating the department’s research excellence and its commitment to cultivating international graduate talents.

Research Highlights
The award-winning research investigates the Multi-Vendor Single-Buyer Inventory Routing Problem (MVSBIRP) by developing an optimization model that simultaneously considers warehouse capacity constraints and heterogeneous vehicle fleet limitations. To improve computational efficiency and overall cost performance, the study integrates a Genetic Algorithm (GA) with Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL).
The research demonstrates both academic innovation and practical value, highlighting the potential application of optimization algorithms in supply chain management and logistics distribution planning. The study received high recognition from the competition judges and was ultimately awarded Excellent Award in the International Student Session.

Receiving Excellent Award in the International Student Session not only recognizes the student's solid research capability, analytical thinking, and optimization modeling skills, but also reflects the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management's long-term commitment to academic research, graduate education, and the cultivation of international talent.

As an international student from Indonesia, I am deeply honored and grateful to receive Excellent Award in the International Student Session of the 2026 Master’s Thesis Competition in Industrial Engineering and Management. This recognition not only affirms the value of my research but also marks an important milestone in my academic journey at Ming Chi University of Technology.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my advisor, Ssu-Han Chen, Ph.D., for his invaluable guidance and continuous support throughout every stage of my research. His advice on research direction, methodology, and thesis writing enabled me to overcome numerous challenges and successfully complete this work. I am also thankful to the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management for providing an excellent research environment and abundant academic resources, as well as to all the faculty members, classmates, and friends who have supported and encouraged me throughout this journey.
